Welcome Back
I am very happy to announce that the club will be re-opening. The building had been sold but now is available again so we are able to resume practice in the same location.
We will be trying a different class format in May. I hope this will work to people’s schedule and allow for more beneficial training time. Group lessons will be weekly for each weapon and have a longer block of time allotted. There will be open fencing available anytime the club is open. Class times will be as follows:
Monday (Tentatively)
Beginner Youth at 6pm
Beginner Adult at 7pm
Tuesday
Warm-ups at 6pm
Youth Fencing at 6:30
Teen / Adult Foil at 7:30
Thursday
Warm-ups at 6pm
Teen / Adult Epee at 6:30
Teen / Adult Sabre at 7:30
Beginner Class
A beginner class will be starting soon. Students should be at least 10 years old when starting lessons, however there is no maximum age! You can begin or come back to fencing anytime. Students should be dressed in clothes appropriate for exercise and wear clean sneakers. For more information, please email info@twintiersfencingclub.com.

US Fencing Rule Change
As of August 1, 2012, the electric bib is required for all USA Fencing-sanctioned events, at all levels (local, division, regional, and national). Use of the bib will not be required at the club, but encouraged.
There are no changes to rules regarding masks for Epee, but you may NOT use a saber mask or a foil mask with electric bib in epee. The metal on the bib/mask can ground out the opponent’s tip. Transparent masks are prohibited.
There are also no changes to rules regarding Saber masks. Transparent masks are optional.
You may not need to purchase a new mask. Many equipment makers are providing conversion kits. Check your mask vendor’s webpage for details.
